I’ve been working on this for 4 sittings spread over 7 days, which doesn’t seem that long really!
I’m kind of struggling to know what to do with it next. It turns out not spacially orienting myself in the world of the painting before I start putting colour down leads down a winding, unclear, frustrating path. How do I know what to do next? How do I know what looks good? Am I putting too much pressure on the painting to be ‘complete’?
Perhaps I just need to put the painting down for a while. Stop with the pressure to keep making with it, get it right first time. I’m worried I can’t make anything good! There are parts of the painting I like.
I think I just need to keep going – keep making. Not necessarily focussing on one canvas, but keep making regardless! Yes!
